Aaron Curry of Raiders underwent stem-cell therapy

1
Oakland Raiders linebacker Aaron Curry remains on the "Active/PUP" list due to a pair of injured knees, but feels he's close to coming back after undergoing stem-cell therapy this offseason, Paul Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area reports.
It's the only thing that's helping me recover," Curry said on Saturday. "Without it, I'd be a lost cause. For sure."
Curry might not have lived up to his "best linebacker prospect in a decade" billing was coming out of Wake Forest and selected fourth overall by theSeattle Seahawks in the 2009 NFL Draft. In fact, some could have called Curry a "lost cause" during the final days of his tenure with the Seahawks, but he has been durable.
Curry sat out the final two games of his rookie season with a hip injury, the only games he's missed due to injury in his three-year career. The Raiders are thin and inexperienced at linebacker, and might lose middle linebacker Rolando McClain to a personal conduct suspension, stemming from his arrest last season in Alabama. The Raiders will need Curry to be healthy to start the season.
"My goal is to get healthy and just go out there and be violent, be fast, be a pain in the offense's butt and whatever I have to do on the defense, do it," said Curry. "And do it full speed. I can't do that until my body says it's ready."
